San Antonio Airport

Every premier destination in the world always has a central gateway of its own. This is the very channel granting tourists that complete access to the attractions waiting for their eyes to behold. In this “culturally diverse” Texan community, every national, be it foreign or local, on board a plane will never miss out the San Antonio Airport. Situated on the northern part of the metropolis, this international terminal occupies a 2, 600 acre land.

The San Antonio Airport is managed by this Texan’s community’s Department of Aviation. Providing work to about 400 employees, the office is also responsible with the operations in the Stinson Municipal Airport. It can be found six miles south of the city’s downtown district. In 2003, this terminal was chosen as the “Texas Reliever Airport of the Year” and is also considered as the second oldest general runway in the United States that has never stopped its business undertakings.

This Texan community’s general runway also accommodates 15 airline companies that fly to about 35 premier destinations.

Currently, the San Antonio Airport has two stations with 24 jet- bridge entrances. The first station was already in utility since 1953 which experienced two expansions both in 1959 and 1968. At this juncture, it already has west and east wings as well as eight entrance satellite concourses. The second station was constructed in 1984 having 16 entrance courtyards. This is where the American Customs Federal Inspection Station is holding its headquarters.

In the first station of the San Antonio Airport, its 16 entrances attends to Aeroliteral based in Monterrey, Aeromar based in San Luis Potosi, Delta Air Lines based in Atlanta, Frontier Airlines based in Denver and Midwest Airlines based in Kansas, to enumerate a few. As for the second station of this Texan community’s international terminal, its eight entrances attends to American Eagle based in Dallas, American Connection based in Saint Louis, Continental Airlines based in Houston, Continental Express based in Cleveland, US Airways based in Phoenix and US Airways Express based in Las Vegas, among the others.

Today, the San Antonio Airport is undergoing a major renovation with a multi- million dollar budget. The project is geared towards the addition of seven new stations that will not only better in their service to the whole Texan community but also to the influx of travelers in the metropolis.
